CREATIVE MUSIC FESTIVAL

The 16th annual MCGA Creative Music Festival will be held Tuesday, June 2nd, 7:00 p.m. at the Getaway Cafe, 1500 Dakota St. The goal of the CMF is to encourage creativity in the music classroom and showcase an evening of original music, composed and performed by students. Although microphones will be provided, the CMF is primarily an “unplugged” acoustic performance, open to students in grades K-12 of registered MMEA affiliate organizations (MBA, MCA, MOC, MKS, MCGA).

Creative Music Festival Guidelines

All works must be original compositions, composed and performed by students

Compositions should ideally evolve from class curricula or extra-curricular assignments

Any combination of instruments/voice is permitted

Performers must provide their own instruments (electric piano will be available)

One composition per student/group. Composition length will be limited 10 minutes
-
There is no cost to participate in this non-competitive, non-adjudicated, festival

Registration forms must be received by May 31st ​
